The Ware County Commission will hear from two guests Monday when the regular monthly work session convenes at 3 p.m. in the new Ware County Administration Building on State Street (behind the courthouse).
Jana Dyke, executive director of the Waycross-Ware County Development Authority, will address the board, as will Willie Character. Character is expected to report on the Red Hill Cemetery reclamation project.
Other agenda items include:
•an update of the 2014 SPLOST paving and drainage project list
•a resolution for new street paving
•a Community Development Block Grant for flood and drainage improvements
•an ambulance purchase from Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax funds
•discussion about the county animal shelter
•a request from the Downtown Waycross Development Authority for an inmate work detail
•an appointment to the planning commission
The agenda indicates an executive session to discuss personnel matters will follow the meeting.
The regular monthly meeting will convene at 5 p.m. with a Hurst rescue equipment display and recognition of the full-time and volunteer firefighters of the year.
Several of the issues discussed during the work session will likely be moved to the regular agenda for official action.
Both meetings are open to the public.
