Shooting At Garlington Heights Also Results In Two People Wounded
Two people were shot and killed on the porch of an apartment in the Garlington Heights Apartment Complex Saturday night and two others hit by gunfire are recovering from their wounds, said Waycross Police Chief Tony Tanner.
The Waycross Police Department has identified the two slain as Cameron Wilkins Jr., 21, and Felicia Williams, 32, both of Waycross. Both were shot and killed about 10:36 p.m., said Tanner.
The names of the two other victims have not been released, Tanner said.
“Both were hospitalized and treated for gunshot wounds,” said Tanner. “One of those victims has been released. The other remains hospitalized and is being treated at an unspecified location.”
Tanner said no other information is being released regarding the victims.
Capt. Danny Hampton said this morning no arrests have been made in the case and that to his knowledge, investigators have not established a motive for the shooting.
“At this point, the investigation is ongoing and all leads are being investigated,” said Tanner.
Major Chris Tatum said police are following leads and intensively investigating the case but have no new information and nothing new to release to the public.
The chief is asking anyone with information to call the Waycross Police Department at 287-2921 or the 24-hour automated tip line at 287-2924 to remain anonymous.
Tanner said Ware County 911 received the call to the shooting at 10:36 p.m. Saturday and were told there were numerous victims with wounds. Officers responding found four people at the apartment, two dead and two wounded.
