BLACKSHEAR — Three people were arrested Tuesday after they were found in possession of drugs when they were in a car that was stopped for a traffic violation, said Blackshear Police Chief Chris Wright.
At 1:56 p.m., Officer Joey Daniels was patrolling on Ware Street when he saw Colanthia Moore, 34, of Blackshear, driving a red Toyota. Recognizing the driver and knowing that her driver’s license had been suspended, Wright said, Daniels made a traffic stop and smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car.
Moore was holding a cup with a white pasty substance in it, Wright said, which turned out to be the makings of crack cocaine.
Moore was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, possession of drug related objects and driving without a license, Wright said.
Two passengers in the vehicle, Alpha Parshall, 57, of Blackshear, and Freddie Anderson, 36, of Blackshear, were also arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and possession of drug related objects, said Wright.
The officer also found crack cocaine in the vehicle and a smoking pipe. Wright said all three were being held in the Pierce County jail.
