The Ware County High Touchdown Club has begun selling tickets for its annual $10,000 raffle fundraiser benefiting the WCHS Gator football team.
The winners will be revealed at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, at the City Auditorium. There will also be a barbecue banquet and silent auction.
The format of the contest has changed to a “reverse raffle.” In a reverse raffle, every ticket in the raffle pool is drawn and the winner of the raffle is the individual whose ticket number corresponds with the final ticket drawn from the pool. As a twist, the final 10 names drawn can unanimously decide to split the money evenly.
“You do not have to be present to win,” said a spokesman. “Your donation will allow the Touchdown Club to fund various needs of the student athletes of the Ware County football program not covered by the school budget. Only 300 tickets will be sold.”
Tickets can be purchased from Touchdown Club members or at one of the following local businesses: Rouse’s Gun Shak, Crawford Jewelers, Miller Tire, PrimeSouth Bank, First Southern Bank and United Community Bank.
