A Douglas man was arrested Tuesday after a concerned citizen reported a “suspicious person” in the area of U.S. 1 and Jamestown Road, said Ware County Sheriff Capt. Neil Skerratt, speaking on behalf of Sheriff Randy Royal.
Iman Terez Jackson, 30, Johnson Street, Douglas, was charged with possession of a firearm (a Jiminez .380-caliber pistol) by a convicted felon, said Skerratt. He was also found to be wanted in Irwin County on a probation violation and in Pearson for traffic charges, Skerratt said.
“He was walking south on U.S. 1 at Jamestown Road at 7:10 p.m. when Sgt. Mike Thrift and Sgt. Stanley Paul investigated,” said Skerratt. “He was carrying a backpack. He was taken to the Ware County jail and will have his first appearance before a judge this morning.”
