On ‘Sanctity Of Life’ Sunday
Devoted Christians in Waycross (above), Nahunta, Hoboken, Blackshear and Folkston gathered in “life chains” in their towns Sunday to show their support in seeking an end to abortions during the annual celebration of “Sanctity of Life” Sunday. Supporters of Bible teachings that abortion is murder stood shoulder-to shoulder in these south Georgia towns holding signs saying “Abortion Kills Children,” “Adoption is a Loving Choice,” “Lord Forgive Us and Our Nation,” “Jesus Forgives and Heals” and “Adoption Not Abortion.” One little boy held a sign that read: “Choose Life, My Mom Did.” From 2:30 until 3:30 p.m. these devoted followers of Bible teachings held their signs, waved at passers-by and called on everyone to search their hearts in support of the births and not abortion of innocent babies. In the town of Hoboken, a large field of tiny white crosses has been created using PVC pipes, all tied with either pink or blue ribbon to designate a boy and a girl. A large sign behind the crosses reads “celebrate life because life is precious.” These tiny crosses are located just west of the traffic light in Hoboken, alongside the South Georgia Parkway (U.S. 82). At every location, drivers honked their horns in support of those standing holding signs and no doubt in support of an end to the scourge of abortion. Records show that an estimated 50 million babies have been aborted since 1973.
