John Wayne Culver
BLACKSHEAR — John Wayne Culver, 67, of Blackshear, passed away Saturday (Sept. 24, 2016) at his residence.
Born in Waycross May 9, 1949, he lived in Pierce County all of his life. He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served during the Vietnam conflict and was a carpenter/independent sub-contractor. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was a son of the late W.J. and Emma Jane O’Steen Culver.
Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Beth and Hulan Blackshear, of Hoboken; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Terrie Culver and Cleve and Pam Culver, all of Blackshear; nieces and nephews, Mike Blackshear, Candace (Josh) Douglas, Zach Culver, Roby Culver and Kris Culver; two great-nieces, Mindy Blackshear and Peyton Douglas; and several other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock in the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will be in the Winn-Thomas Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Mercedes del Castillo
A funeral for Mercedes Lopez del Castillo was held Sunday afternoon at Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel with Father Alfonso Gutierrez officiating.
Burial followed in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bernard Zachry, Mike Zachry, Robert Zachry, Eduardo L. del Castillo, Frank Whitaker and Taylor Zachry.
Miles-Odum Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
