Isaac C. ‘Ike’ Crosby
Isaac “Ike” C. Crosby, 99, died Tuesday morning (Sept. 15, 2015) at Shady Acres Health and Rehabilitation after a brief illness.

Ellen Aldridge Thomas
Ellen Christine Aldridge Thomas, 87, died Monday morning (Sept. 14, 2015) at Hospice Satilla Hospice House in Waycross after an extended illness.
She was born in Waycross in 1928 to the late Lonnie Elmer and Mattie Lee Highsmith Aldridge.
She graduated from Hoboken High School and was active in all the reunions for the class of 1946.
She was a lifelong member of New Hope Fellowship, formerly New Hope Advent Christian Church in Brantley County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Elvin Thomas, and a brother, Norman Aldridge.
She is survived by two daughters, Cherry Thomas Pittman (husband, Larry), and Sonja G. Thomas; a granddaughter, Michelle Pittman Skerratt (husband Neil); a great-grandson, Joseph Mitchell Skerratt; two sisters, Lou Cadoura (husband, Wayne Caffarel), and Lee Aldridge; three brothers, Elmer Aldridge (wife, Blanche), Felton Aldridge, (wife, Lenore), and Clyde Aldridge (wife, Barbara); numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A private graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Satilla Hospice House, 808 Evergreen Way, Waycross, Ga. 31501.

Destiny Faith ‘Sweat’
Destiny Faith Bell “Sweat,” 19, of Waycross, died Monday night (Sept. 14, 2015) at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House following a courageous battle with leukemia.
The family invites their relatives and friends to Destiny’s house on Wednesday evening for a supper and time of reflection.

James J. Hadaway Jr., 88, of Waycross, died Tuesday afternoon (Sept. 15, 2015) at his residence.

Jackie ‘Ed’ Hyers
HORTENSE — Jackie “Ed” Edward Hyers, 69, of Hortense, died Monday afternoon (Sept. 14, 2015) at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick after an extended illness.
Born in Alma, he was the son of Archie and Mildred Troupe Blanton. He was also preceded in death by a son, Patrick Hyers.
He retired from Georgia Pacific after 40 years as a pipe fitter and was a member of New Hope Freewill Baptist Church in Jesup. He loved fishing and hunting and his grandchildren were his pride and joy.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Hyers, of Hortense; a son, Robert Hyers, of Hortense; a daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Leonard Roberts, of Hoboken; three grandchildren, Tucker Hyers, of Hortense, McKenzie Hyers, of Fort Mill, S.C., and Leela Roberts, of Hoboken; a sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Bruce Palmer, of Jesup; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be held this evening starting at 6 o’clock at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
A funeral will be held Thursday morning at 11 o’clock at Twin Rivers Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Charlie Brown, the Rev. Loren Bryant, the Rev. Jack Sinclair and the Rev. Rob Hutto officiating.
Burial will follow in Twin Rivers Church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dean Boatright, Len Davis, Mike Carver, G.W. Knox, Barry Stokes, Ronnie Deloach, Brian Gibson, Tucker Hyers, Leonard Roberts and Robert Hyers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Sammy Davis, Carroll Moody, members of Cowbone Hunting Club, members of Hortense Fishing Club and past and present employees of Georgia Pacific.
Pallbearers are asked to be at the church Thursday morning by 10:30.

A graveside service for Madge Mayo Herrin was held Tuesday morning at Oakland Cemetery with the Rev. Barry Giddens officiating.

A funeral for La. Donna Lorraine Spikes was held Tuesday afternoon at Music Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rodney Thrift and the Rev. Johnny Mitcham officiating.
Burial followed in Holton Cemetery in Alma.
Pallbearers were Wayne Bullard, Jason Crump, Billy Ray Dyal, Dwayne Johns, Brian Spikes and Jacob Spikes.
