A Waycross man threw a concrete block through the glass door of a Waring Street convenience store and stole beer and cigarettes in mid-April. He was arrested and released on bond.
Early Wednesday morning, Jeremiah Saran White, 20, of 1601 Vernon St., Apartment “A,” repeated the crime at the same store, stealing cigarettes and beer, said Ware County Sheriff Randy Royal.
It is suspected that this time, White used a different brick bat.
White was arrested around 8 a.m. Wednesday, Royal said, after having broken into the store at 1:15 a.m. He is being held in the Ware County jail on charges of burglary, criminal damage to property and possession of tools for the commission of a burglary, said Royal.
His modus operandi is the same. Royal said in both crimes White first cut power cables running into the store so as to disable the burglar alarm.
Royal said a video showed the man that police recognized as White as he threw a concrete block through the front window glass and entered the store. Royal said lawmen then went to his apartment with a search warrant in hand.
“They found the clothes he was wearing in the video, the cigarettes and beer that he had stolen and a bag of tools, wire cutters and other items, which he had used to cut the wires and break into the store,” said Royal.
Detective Mike Thrift was in charge of the investigation and arrest.
