Law enforcement officials released the following information:
•Drugs: Donald Lynn Sweat Sr., 54, of the 2300 block of Sweat Road; charged with possession of methamphetamine, driving with a suspended license, failure to maintain a lane and possession of drug-related objects; Deputy Zabrae Williams observed a 2000 Honda CRV sport utility vehicle on the South Georgia Parkway at the West Bypass swerving across the fog line at 4:07 p.m. Tuesday; the driver gave the deputy consent to search and found nothing on his person; he then deployed his K-9 and the animal gave an odor response on the vehicle; Williams located a brown and tan pouch in the driver side door containing a glass smoking device, a bag of crystal methamphetamine and a straw containing a white substance; “Oops!” Sweat spontaneously said to the deputy, “Oh, I thought about that when you started searching. I used to smoke meth until I was diagnosed with a heart condition.” He was taken to the Ware County jail and booked on the felony drug charges.
•Drugs: Samuel Lawrence Strickland, 42, of the 900 block of Saddle Circle; charged with possession of methamphetamine, a seatbelt violation, violation of the Open Container Law, possession of drug-related objects and a windshield violation; Cpl. Craig Colley was on patrol at 9:40 p.m. Tuesday when he observed a 2003 Chevrolet Impala with a broken windshield and the driver not wearing a seatbelt; he blue-lighted the vehicle and the driver pulled into a business lot in the 2000 block of Albany Avenue; the deputy informed him why he was stopped; as he began to write citations, Deputy Zabrae Williams arrived with his K-9 and deployed the animal; after a positive odor response, the deputies searched the car and found a half empty bottle of Old Crow bourbon, two smoking devices, a blue plastic straw and a quantity of crystal methamphetamine; he was taken to the Ware County jail and booked on the charges.
