During a traffic stop this morning for a motor vehicle headlight violation, said Blackshear Police Chief Chris Wright.
Christopher C. Chancey, 45, of Blackshear, was taken into custody and charged with possession of meth with intent to distribute, said Wright.
Blackshear Police Sgt. Charlie Wichman stopped the vehicle on U.S. Highway 84 near Bowen Road for having only one operational headlight, said Wright.
Chancey was a passenger in the vehicle. Where Chancey was seated, Wichman located and seized a cloth bag holding about 20 grams (unofficial weight) of crystal meth. Wright said.
“He stopped the vehicle for having a light out about 2:28 this morning,” said Wright. “In the passenger area where Chancey was seated, Sgt. Wichman found a Crown Royal bag that contained a bag with the crystal meth. During the investigation, Chancey admitted to the officer that the meth was his and the driver was not charged. He was released.”
Chancey was being held in the Pierce County jail this morning.
