Gerald Sylvester Kirby
The funeral for Gerald Sylvester Kirby, 61, will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at First Jordan Grove Baptist Church, 2004 Martin Luther King Boulevard, Brunswick.
Visitation is today at 5 p.m. at R.L. Jones & Sons Funeral Home, 76 Stafford Ave., Brunswick.
A native of Waycross, he was born Dec. 22, 1953 to the late Sylvester Kirby and Ethel Williams Kirby.
He lived most of his life in Brunswick. He was called home on Saturday (Nov. 14, 2015) at Golden Isle Hospice.
He was a graduate of Waycross High School class of 1972. He later attended Waycross-Ware County Technical School where he studied heavy equipment operations.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Bernice Kirby Mitchell, Mae Ethel Hunter, Deloris Kirby McNair Fedon, and three brothers Bennie N. Hunter, Lynn D. Kirby and Allen W. Hunter Sr.
To forever cherish his memories is a devoted, loving wife of 40 years, Irish Kirby of Brunswick; a daughter, Mishiko Kirby, Brunswick; three sons Cedric Kirby, Carlos Kirby, both of Jacksonville, Fla., and Geraldine Kirby, of Brunswick; one brother, Marion (M.E.) Thomas, of Waycross, and a special niece, Sheryl “Neicee Doll” Mitchell, of Waycross; 10 grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

R.H. ‘Ronnie’ Palmer
R.H. “Ronnie” Palmer, 69, died peacefully Saturday (Nov. 14, 2015) at his residence in Jamestown.
He was a native of Miami, Fla., but he moved to Waycross in 1974 with CSX. In 2005, he retired from CSX Railroad as a conductor and yardmaster after 42 years of service. He was also a member of the United Transportation Union (UTU). He worked the yard and road service in Hialeah, Fla., and Waycross.
He spent the last year of his life enjoying his retirement, gardening, and watching NASCAR and the Ware County football team.
He was the son of the late G.H. Palmer and Virginia Martin Palmer. He was preceded in death by one brother, Roger Palmer.
Survivors include his wife, Sandi L. Wright Palmer, of Waycross; three sons, Wade R. Faucher (Carole), of Winchester, Va., Chris L. Faucher (Heather), of Londonderry, N.H., and Carl R. Palmer (Roxanne), of Denton, Texas; one daughter, Jennifer Palmer, of Jacksonville, Fla.; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild, Roman; one brother, Carl A. Palmer (Sue); one sister, Pamela J. Williams; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Ronnie Palmer will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at the Music Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service until 4 p.m.

Isaac G. Williams
Isaac G. “Bugara” Williams, 64, died Wednesday evening (Nov. 18, 2015) at his residence after an illness.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Fluker Funeral Home.
