Shirley Jean Rowell passed away peacefully Monday (March 16, 2015) surrounding by her family after an extended illness.
Friends are being received at her residence, 1510 Bunche St., Waycross.

Marian A. Boyce
Marian A. Boyce, 70, died Tuesday morning (March 17, 2015) at Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross after a brief illness.
She was a native of Waycross, the daughter of the late Elliott Cobb Jr. and Daisy Ervin Cobb. She was a member of St. Peters Baptist Church.
Survivors include her children, Rodney Boyce (Benita), of San Antonio, Texas, Sonja Boyce, of Waycross, and Tori Boyce, of Savannah; sisters, Beatrice Naidu (Daramaguru), of California, and Daisy Josey (Lucius), of Waycross; a brother, Kenneth Adams, of Waycross; and other relatives.
Friends are being received at the home of her brother-in-law and sister, Lucius and Daisy Josey, 1407 E.L. Saunders Drive.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Fluker Funeral Home.

Sarah L. Thrift
BLACKSHEAR — Sarah L. Thrift, 83, of Blackshear, passed away Tuesday evening (March 17, 2015) at her residence.

David Earl Scurry
David Earl Scurry, 63, of Waycross, died Monday afternoon (March 16, 2015) at his residence after a sudden illness.
He was born in Waycross and lived here all of his life. He worked for CSX Railroad as an electrician for 43 years.
He was a former member of Full Gospel Center in Emerson Park and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Scurry, and one brother, Raymond Scurry.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Shari Jo Scurry, of Waycross; two daughters, Sherry Scurry Colon, of Baxley, Haley Scurry, of Waycross; two step-sons, Brad Cunningham (wife, Heather), of Blackshear, Michael Cunningham (wife, Consuelo), of McDonough; seven grandchildren, Ansleigh, Lexie, Addie, J.J., Taylor, Canaan and Colleen; his mother, Pearl Stone Scurry, of Waycross; four sisters, Martha Humphreys, of Waycross, Mildred Warner (husband, Ronald), of Waycross, Gail Chancey, of Waycross, Debbie Freeman, of Waycross; two brothers, William Scurry (wife, Mary Jo), of Atlanta, Cecil Scurry (wife, Sylvia), of High Springs, Fla.; three brothers-in-law, Jeff Cunningham (wife, Julie), of Waycross, James Cunningham, of Macon, Donny Cunningham, of Patterson; one sister-in-law, Russella Forrister (husband, Tony), of Hickox; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral will be held Friday morning at 11 at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Swamp Road Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.

Henry Thomas Creech
Henry Thomas Creech, 83, of Waycross, died late Monday night (March 16, 2015) at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House after a brief illness.
He was born in Selma, N.C., to the late Norwood William Creech and Rachel White Creech. He made his home in Jacksonville, Fla., for the past 20 years before moving to Waycross in October. In Jacksonville he was a member of Arlington Baptist Church.
He served for 20 years in the United States Navy, which included service during the Korean War. He retired from the United States Navy in 1970 as a Chief Petty Officer. After his retirement from service, used his accomplished skills for welding, plumbing and fixing most anything put in front of him. He loved his family and any time he was able to spend with them. He appreciated listening to all kinds of music and passed the love of music on to his daughters. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sister, Ralph Creech, Vernon Creech, Margie Kowalski and Marshall Creech.
He is survived by his wife, Vara Creech, of Waycross; two daughters, Cindy Frazier (husband, Earl), of Magnolia, Ky., Linda Sirmans (husband, Hank), of Waycross; four grandchildren, Aaron Frazier (wife, Brittany), Rachel Bundy (husband, Mike), Thomas Sirmans, Tanner Sirmans; a brother, Frank Creech (wife, Kathy); a sister, Bonnie Powell (husband, Emmett); two sisters-in-law, Lou Creech and Lorraine Creech; numerous nieces and nephews; a step-son, Miles Latham (wife, Cathy), of Douglas; a step-daughter, Elizabeth Latham; five step-grandchildren, Kathy Selman, Macey Latham, Hunter Latham, Kaysie Bronson (husband, Denver), Stephanie Day (husband, Michael); two step-great-grandchildren, Kaley Bronson and Cole Bronson; and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Satilla, 808 Evergreen Way, Waycross, Ga. 31501.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to everyone at Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross and Hospice Satilla for the compassionate, loving care that was shown to Mr. Creech and his family.

Miss Walton L. Tyre
Little Miss Walton Leighla Tyre, infant daughter of Graham and Dana Walton Tyre, of Nicholls, passed away early Saturday morning (March 14, 2015) at Coffee Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her parents, Graham and Dana Walton Tyre, of Nicholls; one brother, Kayden Tyre, of Nicholls; one sister, Johnni Lyn Tyre, of Nicholls; maternal grandmother, Pamela Page “Pammie” Walton (her late husband, Johnny Lee “Dubby” Walton), of Nicholls; paternal grandfather, Eddie “Pa” Tyre, of K’ville; paternal grandmother, and step-grandfather, Nancy Crews and Walter Crews, of Waycross; maternal great-grandmother, Laverne “Mama Lu” Page, of Nicholls; paternal great-grandmother, Janice “Grand Ma” Karlbom, of Waycross; paternal great-great-grandmother, Effie “Nanny” Gamble, of Screven; aunt, Amanda Leigh and Joel Williams, of Nicholls; several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
A graveside service was held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Meeks Cemetery, with the Rev. Jerry Campbell officiating.
At the graveside, a special Musical Selection, “Jesus Loves Me,” was rendered by siblings, Kayden and Johnni Lyn Tyre, and the congregation.

Sharon W. Durham
Sharon Elaine Williams Durham, 61, of Blackshear, died Friday evening (March 13, 2015) at Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross after an extended illness.
She was born in Waycross to the late Carl Williams and Iva Lee Beverly Hannah. She lived most of her life in Ware and Pierce counties.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son.
Survivors include four sisters, Patricia Booth (husband, Kenneth), of Manor, Julianna “Judy” Bryant, of Valdosta, Donna Sue Kessler (husband, Michael), of Milledgeville, Carleen Karch (Chris Leggett), of Alma; one brother, Richard William (fiancee Brenda Welcher), of Waycross; two daughters, Anna Jennings, of Brookwood, Ala., and Melissa Jordan, of Norman Park; three grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Memorialization is by cremation.

Joseph Carl Sapp
BLACKSHEAR — The funeral for Joseph Carl Sapp, 78, was held Tuesday afternoon at 1 o’clock in the Pearson-Dial Chapel.
Officiating was the Rev. Joe Thigpen.
Interment was in the St. Johns Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were his four sons, Kenny Sapp, Mark Sapp, Eric Sapp and Greg Sapp, along with Michael Roundtree and Travis Todd.

‘Quita’ Laughinghouse
A funeral for Jacquita C. Laughinghouse was held Tuesday afternoon at Music Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Franklin Peacock officiating.
Burial followed in Kettle Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Rhett Carter, Stanley Cheshire, Gary Griffin and Dave Griffin.
Music Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Iris Faye Westberry
The funeral for Iris Faye Myrlisa “Lisa” Miller Westberry, 49, was held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Hargraves Chapel.
Officiating was the Rev. Clayton Davis.
Active pallbearers were Chris Davis, Eric Murray, Kenyatta Gordon, Cornelius O’Harra and Donald Miller.
Interment was in the Hargraves Chapel Cemetery.
