Gloria Oliver Griffin, 48, died Wednesday afternoon (July 27, 2016) at Mayo Clinic Health System at Waycross from compilations from an illness.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Music Funeral Home.

Rose Ann Thornton
BLACKSHEAR — Rose Anne Boatright Thornton, 51, of Blackshear, passed away Tuesday (July 26, 2016) at her residence.
Born in Waycross Dec. 13, 1964, she lived in Georgia and Florida for several years before moving back to Pierce County many years ago. She was a 1982 graduate of Pierce County High School and worked as a nail tech before her health began to fail.
She was a member of Mershon Methodist Church. She loved to write poetry, was talented at floral arranging, could grow any kind of plant and flower, was a wonderful cook and loved animals. She was most looking forward to becoming a grandmother to her precious grandson who was born the very day she passed away.
She was preceded in death by mother, Verdie Vernell Smith Boatright.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Joseph Ryan “Jody” and DeAnna Thornton, of Waycross; her new grandson, Jecht Joseph Thornton, of Waycross; her father, Bernice Boatright Jr., of Blackshear; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Shari and Carl Henderson, of Mershon, and Abby Walker, of Blackshear; her niece and nephews, Hannah (Doug) Boatright and James Allen “Skipper” Davis III and Payton Walker; her great-niece, Kaley Brooke Boatright; her best friend, Lori Cranfield, of Blackshear; and several other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be held Friday morning at 11 o’clock in the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Bacon County.
The family kindly requests members of the Pierce County High School class of 1982 to serve as honorary pallbearers.  They are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 Friday morning.

James M. Mitchell
A funeral for James Malcolm “Mike” Mitchell was held Wednesday morning at Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Howard officiating.
Pallbearers were Paul Loska, Charles Lance, Ron Lance and Mark Mitchell.
Burial followed in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Military honors were provided by the honor guard of Ft. Stewart Army Base.
Miles-Odum Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
