UNDATED — Jake Clayton Giddens, 35, was always the life of the party, and as of July 18, 2021, he’s moved on to a more glorious party circuit. Giddens never met a stranger, and that is evident by the eclectic group of wonderful people who have shown up for him. It was hard to get the last word in a conversation with him because he was always ready with a quick-witted and colorful comeback. Giddens was amenable to most experiences and rarely left a chance untaken. He was passionate about a lot of things: his family, playing his fiddle, forestry, and his friendships. Giddens was a graduate of the exceptional 2005 class of Ware County High School. He proudly earned an Associate of Applied Science in Forestry from Okefenokee Technical College. He also attended South Georgia State College and Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. While a student at ABAC, Giddens enjoyed driving the Vulcan Steam Train and working the Saw Mill at the historic Agrirama. Those he left behind include his mother, Debra Strickland Giddens; his siblings, Jennifer Giddens and Greg Giddens; his nieces and nephews, Marah Giddens, Ben Giddens, Jayla Giddens, Bayla Giddens, and Jesup Giddens; very special friends Vince and Amanda Bradford, Cody Taylor, Michael Patton, and Josh Anderson; special family members, Diann Strickland, David and Tamara Giddens, Henry Giddens, John Earl Strickland, John and LeeAnne Strickland, Nancy and Duward Boatright, and Betsy and Lance Davis; a multitude of friends and cousins, and his beloved red-bone hounds, Charlie B. Giddens and Copper “Little Charlie” Giddens. Giddens will be joining a party already in progress that includes his father, Ben L. Giddens, his cousin Rachael Giddens, his maternal grandparents J.E. and Waunell Strickland, and his paternal grandparents Clem and Elizabeth Giddens.
