Jessie Lee Bryant

Randell McCray, of Morning Star Baptist Church, will offer words of comfort and encouragement.
Friends are being received at the Bryant residence, 151 Brown St., Homerville.
The body will lie in repose at the church Saturday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.
Interment will be in Pine Forest Cemetery.
She was born May 1, 1935 in Thelma, Ga., to the late George Bryant Sr. and Annie Taft Bryant. She grew up in Homerville where she received her formal education from the Clinch County Public School System.
“Mother Bryant” was a longtime and faithful member of Greater Morning Star Baptist Church where she served as Mother of the church.
She worked hard most of her life to provide for her children. There was nothing in the world that she would not do for her children. There were many nights that she would go to bed hungry, just to ensure that her children had food to eat. She not only gave to her children, she extended her love to her grandchildren, her siblings and anyone whomever crossed her path.
Her congenial character won a place in the hearts of those privileged to have known her. She made time for everyone and her love was unconditional. One of her favorite moments was talking on the phone with her brother, Noah, about their life growing up. Noah would make comments each time about their brother “Scott,” and she would laugh so hard.
On Saturday morning (Feb. 16, 2019), God called her to her heavenly home. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, George Bryant Jr., John Bryant and James Bryant, four sisters, Sissy Thomas, Lola Bryant, Alberta Bryant and Yvonne Bryant Moore, her life partner, Jessie Edmond and her best friend, Mozell Tolbert.
Those left to cherry her memory include her daughters, Patricia Bryant, Dianne Hodges, Melba Cobb (Dannie), all of Homerville, Yvonne Jones (Darrell), of Atlanta, Jennifer Thornton (Wendell) and Sherry Bolden, both of Jacksonville, Fla.; her sons, Walter Bryant (Joann), of Orlando, Fla., Charlie Bryant (Rose), Jesse Bryant (Sheila), Keith Edmond (Kim) and Eugene Edmond (Marilyn), all of Homerville; brothers, Noah Bryant (Nellie), Scott Bryant, both of Homerville, Jimmy Bryant, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Albert Bryant, of Atlanta; an aunt, Viola Bryant, of Valdosta; an adoptive daughter, Malene Gore, of Argyle; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
