Robert B.F. Ashley Jr.
Deacon Robert Benjamin Franklin Ashley Jr., 70, passed away at his home Sunday (Feb. 17, 2019) after an extended illness, surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born Dec.10, 1948 to the late Robert Benjamin Ashley Sr. and Ruby Cannon Ashley, of Patterson. He was a 1967 graduate of Lee Street High School in Blackshear. He was married to Estella Marie Booth on Aug. 4, 1970.
The family is receiving friends at 3249 Tyre Bridge Road, Patterson.

William Levy “W.L.” Corbitt, 71, died Monday (Feb. 18, 2019) at the Hospice House Satilla following an extended illness.

ATHENS — Sylvia Taylor Brown, 75, of Blackshear, passed away Monday (Feb. 18, 2019) at Piedmont-Athens General Hospital.

Robin Lee Sapp
Robin Lee “Robby” Sapp, 49, of Patterson, passed away Sunday morning (Feb. 17, 2019) at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House.
Born in Blackshear on Aug. 19, 1969, he lived in Pierce County all of his life. He was a 1989 graduate of Pierce County High School and had been a truck driver for Albritton Farms prior to becoming ill. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Lee Walker Sapp.
Survivors include his father, John Arch Sapp Jr., of Patterson; his brother, Gary (Michelle Tootle) Sapp, of Ludowici; a niece, Kimber (Pee Wee) Fowler, of Ludowici; a great-nephew, Case Lee Fowler; his dog, Dixie; and several other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be in the Laura Chapel Cemetery.

A funeral for Johnny Hickox was held Monday afternoon at Hosanna Church with the Rev. Chester Chancey, the Rev. Bill McCullar and Dr. S. William Clark III officiating.
Burial followed in High Bluff Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Joe Jones, Teyo Resendez, Brantley Thrift, Dennis Sellers, Andrew Sellers and Gary Sellers.
Honorary pallbearers were employees of the Okefenokee Swamp Park, Okefenokee Swamp Park Board of Directors, Frank Shipes and John Shipes.
Military honors were provided by the honor guard of Ft. Stewart Army Base.

A funeral for Charles Thrift was held Monday morning at Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill McCullar officiating.

Wanda Dixon Lee Hill
A graveside service for Wanda Dixon Lee Hill, 97, was held Monday afternoon at 4 o’clock in Oakland Cemetery.
Officiating was Kelly Lee, one of Mrs. Hill’s grandsons.
