LUMBER CITY, Ga. — Mrs. Doris Watkins Peterson, 94, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2021, at Lumber City Health and Rehabilitation following a short illness. Mrs. Peterson was born July 25, 1926, in Jacksonville, Florida, to the late Baxley Thomas Watkins and Cora Bower Watkins. She was retired from the Georgia Power office in Waycross and a lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Waycross. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Peterson was preceded in death by her husband, C.C. “Pete” Peterson. She is survived by her daughter, Sylvia “Pete” Brown (husband Glen G.) of Douglas, Georgia; two grandchildren, Matthew P. Brown of Columbus, Georgia and Christopher G. Brown of Lawrenceville, Georgia; four great-grandchildren, Adaline, Linus, Corva, and Zander Brown; and a brother, Thomas Watkins of Atlanta.
