Gardie Lee
PEARSON — Gardie Lee, 52, of Pearson, passed away Thursday (Dec. 1, 2016) at his home in Pearson, surrounded by his loving family following a courageous battle with ALS.
A native of Coffee County, he was born Aug. 31, l964 to Delmas Henry and Elmarie Lott Lee. He made his home in Pearson for most of his life and was a l982 graduate of Atkinson County High School.
He was assistant plant manager at Live Oak Homes for eight years before poor health forced him to retire. He enjoyed coaching softball for his boys, watching the Georgia Bulldogs play and reading. He was a member of the Church of God for 15 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Delmas Henry Lee.
Survivors include his mother and step-father, Elmarie Lott Powell (husband, Johnny). of Pearson; his wife, Fonda Hayes Lee, of Pearson; his son, Dustin Lee, of Pearson; his daughter, Casey A. Bazemore, of Waycross; a brother, Derryl Lee (wife, Cathy), of Pearson; a sister, Joan Lee, of Pearson; a grandson, Finn Lee, of Orlando, Fla.; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
The funeral was held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Remnant Church of God in Waycross with Bishop Alton Carter, Bishop George Moxley and the Rev. Caleb Lancaster officiating.
Serving as active pallbearers were Ricky Moore, Dennis Burton, Shane Boyd, Brian Chapman, Dusty Lewis and Mario Rainge.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Roger Stone, Micky Mizell, Leonard Jordan, William Fletcher, Keith Johnson, Henry White, Kevin Bennett, Nathan Carter, Caleb Carter, Luke Carter, Steve Batten, Frank Sanchez and Ronnie Patton.
Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson was in charge of the arrangements.

Jesse Stephens
BLACKSHEAR — Jesse Stephens, 63, of Blackshear, passed away Sunday (Dec. 4, 2016) at his sister’s residence.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Pearson-Dial Funeral Home.

Kimberly Stephenson
Kimberly “Kim” McKnight Stephenson, 59, died Saturday morning (Dec. 3, 2016) at her residence after an illness.
Friends are being residence at the Stephenson residence, 801 Daniel St.

Freddie Mae Jones
Freddie Mae Jones, 59, of 603 Owens St. Waycross, passed away Saturday (Dec. 3, 2016) with family members at her bedside.
She was the wife of Jerome Jones and the mother of Brother Jimmy Moore Jr. The family is receiving friends at the residence.
Funeral arrangements and a list of survivors will be announced later by Rainge Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.

Thomas W. Carter
BLACKSHEAR — The funeral for Thomas William Carter, 85, was held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Officiating was the Rev. Mike Stone.
Interment was in Greenlawn Cemetery with full military honors conducted by Fort Stewart.
Also serving as active pallbearers were his four sons-in-law and grandsons.
Pearson-Dial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Barbara B. O’Neal
BLACKSHEAR — The funeral for Barbara Byrd O’Neal, 82, was held Saturday morning at 11 o’clock in the Pearson-Dial Chapel.
Officiating was the Rev. Robert Wood.
Interment was in the Blackshear Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Donald Rowell, Stephen Byrd, Brian Rowell, Jimmy Strickland, Michael Byrd and David O’Neal.
Pearson-Dial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Charles Conley Sr.
A funeral for Charles Owens Conley Sr was held Saturday afternoon at Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steven Kegley and the Rev. Derwin Griffin officiating.
Burial followed in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Shannon Brown, Stephen Brown, Glenn Williamson, Charles Conley III, J.W. Conley, Cole Conley and Brandon Conley.
Miles-Odum Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Pinkie Mackey
The funeral for Pinkie Mackey was held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Blackshear.
Pastor Tony Reynolds presided. Pastor Berdie Mae Dotson and Pastor J.R. Dotson Sr., were co-eulogist.
Pallbearers were Byron Bowens, Richard Davis, Ron Davis, Valente Grant, Greg McClaine and Earl Fredrick.
Selections was given by the Pierce County Youth and Young Adult Choir and Germiska McGauley and a selection Brother Cecil “Matt” Jones.
“Pinkie” was born Oct. 2, 1961 in Blackshear, to the late Ivery Lee Mackey and Bill Davis. She passed away Sunday (Nov. 27, 2016) at Waycross Health and Rehabilitation. She was educated in the Pierce County School System. As an adult she was a member of Travelers Rest Baptist Church in Folkston. She was the first lady, secretary and head cook. Pinkie and Pastor J.R. Dotson Sr. helped raise seven children and a brother-in-law.
Left to cherish her memories are her children, Ivery Laverne “Sissy” Houston (Nate), Anthony “Chief” Mackey and Angel Mackey, all of Jacksonville, Fla., Chiquita Dotson, of Blackshear, Lisa Benjamin (Kenny), of Valdosta, J.R. Dotson Jr. and Claude Thomas “CT” Dotson, of Waycross, and Jeffery Cornelius Dotson, of Jesup; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; siblings, Sara Joe Mackey McGauley, of Jacksonville, Fla., Ron Davis, Yvonne Davis, of Blackshear, Beverly King, of Waycross, and Felton “Jabbo” West (Marcel), of Jacksonville, Fla.; a brother, Henry Mackey (Sheila), Derrick Mackey, and Walter Lane (Christine), of Blackshear; aunts, Pearl Taylor and Jackie Blakely, both of Blackshear; uncle, Deacon Theo Mackey (Pearline); brothers-in-law, Pastor Isaac Dotson, Ronald Dotson and Claude Thomas Dotson; sisters-in-law. Cora Dotson and Pastor Berdie Dotson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends; and loving companion, Pastor J.R. Dotson Sr.
