Sherry Rena Bennett
Sherry Rena Bennett, 50, of Blackshear, died early Monday morning (Dec. 21, 2015) at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House following an extended illness.
A graveside funeral took place Monday afternoon at Ramah Cemetery in Pierce County.

Marlene M. Strickland
BLACKSHEAR — Marlene Manning Strickland, 73, of Blackshear, passed away Sunday afternoon (Dec. 20, 2015) at her residence following a lengthy illness.
Born in Blackshear, March 27, 1942, she lived in Pierce County most of her life. She was a retired certified nursing assistant (CNA) having worked for Pierce County Home Health. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed cooking and gardening. She loved her cats and dogs.
She was a daughter of the late Thomas Olin and Mary Smith Manning. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Lynell Strickland, a step-son, Danny Strickland, and both of her brothers, Arnold Virgil Manning and Thomas Daniel “Danny” Manning.
Survivors include three daughters, Jennifer Manning, of Blackshear, Debbie Manning, of Nahunta, and Donna Adams, of Blackshear; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas “Tommy” and Susan Manning, of Blackshear; two step-daughters, Linette Mater and Mandy Herrin, both of Waycross; eight grandchildren, T.J. Manning (Ruby Havis), Lisa Manning, Keith Altman (Shelby), Sadie Altman (Seth Johnson), James Griner (Sarah Thornton), Lee Manning, LeeAnn Manning and Jack Manning; seven great-grandchildren, Tyler Manning, Katelynn Manning, Ansley Manning, Jayden Altman, Remington Altman, Matthew Altman, Nickali Altman; one great-grandchild on the way – Jax; six or more step-grandchildren; seven or more step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The funeral will be held at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon at the Pearson-Dial Chapel.
Interment will be in the Smyrna Cemetery in Brantley County.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Dennis H. Rollins Sr.
Dennis Herman Rollins Sr., 89, of Douglas, passed away Sunday afternoon (Dec. 20, 2015) at his residence.
He was born Nov. 11, 1926, to the late Thomas Herman Rollins and Ola Harper Rollins Campbell. He was also predeceased by one daughter, Beth Rollins Stovall.
Survivors include his wife, Reva Mae Hendley Rollins, of Douglas; one son, Dennis H. (Ginger) Rollins Jr., of Blackshear; one daughter Lindsay (Justin) Chambers, of Beaufort, S.C.; two grandsons, Brent (Lindsay) Hopkins, of Waycross, and Clayton Chambers, of Beaufort, S.C.; two granddaughters, Sutton Rollins, of Blackshear, and Madison Chambers, of Beaufort, S.C.; and three great-grandchildren, Owen, Camp and Jack Hopkins, of Waycross; three step-daughters, June (Mike) Smith, of Broxton, Melissa (Len) Carter, of Valdosta, and Joey (Mike) Broadwater, of Valdosta; six step-grandchildren, John (Tara) Smith, of Broxton, Mark Smith, of Broxton, Dori Carter, of Atlanta, Aldine (Kyle) Warner, of Naylor, Layne Broadwater, of Athens, and Colin Broadwater, of Riverside, Calif.; and two great-step-grandchildren, Macy and Mallory Smith, of Broxton.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Douglas with Dr. Shep Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Rocky Pond Cemetery.
The family request contributions be made to one’s favorite charity in lieu of flowers.
Visitation will be Wednesday morning at First Baptist Church from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

Willene Morgan Lee
PATTERSON — The funeral for Willene Morgan Lee, 84, was held Monday morning at 11 o’clock at Patterson Baptist Church.
Officiating were the Rev. Jerry Price and the Rev. Lynn Herrin.
Interment was in the Patterson Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Rock Lee, Eli Chancey, Dalton Rooks, Zeb Chancey, Owen Chancey and Dustin Rooks.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Hope Sunday School class at Patterson Baptist Church.
Pearson-Dial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Hattie Virginia Hall
A funeral for Hattie Virginia Bell Hall, 83, of Savannah, took place Monday afternoon at 12 o’clock in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home with Elder Jason Deal officiating.
Pallbearers were Greg Jacobs, John Jacobs, James Jacobs, Ryan Jacobs, Kenny Aherron and Larry Bell.
Burial followed in High Bluff Cemetery.
