Lawmen Enter Anyway And Arrest Eastover Drive Man
Ware County deputies and detectives arrested a man wanted on a probation warrant Wednesday and also made a drug case on him after finding him in possession of methamphetamine, said Ware County Sheriff’s Capt. Neil Skerratt.
Donald Wesley “Skip” Thomas, 38, of the 2300 block of Eastover Drive, was taken into custody in the 1800 block of Franklin Avenue, said Skerratt.
Cpl. Brian Newman, Lt. Mike Thrift and Detective Jeff Nolan arrived at the location to serve the warrant and heard two men talking in a shed behind the residence.
Hearing the visitors — and before making visual contact — Thomas welcomed the lawmen … sort of.
“He told them to ‘come in if you ain’t the police’ and they entered the shed and took him into custody,” said Skerratt.
Thomas is charged with a probation violation and possession of methamphetamine. Skerratt said he was booked into the Ware County jail about 3:15 p.m. where he remained this morning.
