HOMERVILLE — Three Waycross people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Saturday at the intersection of Georgia 122 and Georgia Highway 89, said the Georgia State Patrol.
One driver, Billie Grantham, 46, was injured but was not taken to a medical facility for treatment, said Amanda Dixon, GSP Waycross post secretary. Her passengers, Brenda Rolison, 51, and Cassidy Rolison, 16, were transported by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross following the 2:41 p.m. accident, said Dixon.
Grantham, driving a 2011 Nissan Murano sport utility vehicle, was eastbound on Georgia 122 and had stopped at the intersection with 89, Dixon said, as a 2006 Nissan Murano driven by Carmen Peele, 47, of Nashville, was northbound on 89, approaching 122. Grantham did not see the Peele vehicle approaching and entered the intersection where her vehicle was struck by the Peele vehicle, said Dixon.
Grantham’s vehicle spun clockwise and overturned, the Peele vehicle stopped in the west lane of Georgia 122, Dixon said.
Trooper Greg Stone was in charge of the investigation, she said.
