Sheila Parker Bennett
Sheila Darlene Parker Bennett, 55, of Nicholls, passed away Wednesday (April 1, 2015) at Coffee Regional Hospital after an extended illness.
She was a native of Appling County, daughter of the late James F. Parker. She was preceded in death by a child, Baby Bennett, and her grandparents, Frank and Idell Griffin and James L. and Iona Parker.
Survivors include her mother, Betty Wanell Griffin Parker, of Alma; husband, Mark R. Morgan, of Nicholls; one sister, Jeanette Parker, of Alma; foster brother, Ronnie Patton; two nephews, Dale and Randy Evans; six great-nieces and nephews, Big Alex and Little Alex Evans, Hunter and Austin Evans and Alexis and Marcie Evans.
The funeral will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. at Anchor Fellowship Church in Douglas with the Rev. Scott Smith, the Rev. Jason McSwain and the Rev. Jimmy Miles officiating.
Interment will follow in Chatterton Church Cemetery.
The body will be carried to the church at 3 p.m. Sunday to lie in state.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6 to 9.
Active pallbearers will be Chris Smith, Eddie McCarty, Brandon Meeks, Tim Sweat, Gene Batten, Carl Davis and Steven Dennison.
Honorary pallbearers will be special friend, Joyce Davis, Melinda Anderson, Ginger Perry, Megean Hersey, Tiffany King, Brook Sweat, Clay Sweat, Katie and Justin Hatten, Blake Williamson, Morris and Christie Chaffin, Matt Carter, Kayla and Alecia Gurley, L.B. Boatright, Nichole and Rachel Hatten and Landon Patton.

Robert D. Hooper Jr. died Friday (April 3, 2015) at his residence following a short illness.

Jimmy Lee Hill
Jimmy Lee Hill, 62, departed his life Wednesday (April 1, 2015) after a short illness.
He was born on March 14, 1953 in Brantley County, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Armour Hill. He graduated Lee Street High School. He attended architect school and was employed at CSX for a few years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Eugene Wesley.
He leaves to cherish his memories, three daughters, Cherry Derios (husband, Eric), of Newark, N.J., Monique Hill and Misty Reese, both of Waycross; three sisters, Elouise Wesley, of Blackshear, Mary Newberry, of Waycross, Alberta (Clifford) Graham, of Augusta; seven brothers, Armour Hill Jr. (wife, Carnette), of Atlanta, Billy George Hill, of Jacksonville, Fla., David Hill, of Atlanta, Aaron Hill, of Augusta, Ronnie Hill (wife, Lynette), of Waycross Paul Hill, of Blackshear, Joseph Hill, of Atlanta; eight grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Blackshear.
The cortege will assemble at 821 Columbus St. in Waycross at noon. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery in Blackshear.
Visitationwill be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

A funeral for Freddie Edward Cox was held Friday morning at Music Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy McQuaig officiating.
Burial followed in Suwannee Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Rusty Barnes, Casey Cox, David Cox, R.J. Cox, Ricky Cox and Jamie Herrin.

Burial followed in Kettle Creek Cemetery.
