ALMA — An Alma man was arrested Friday for possession of marijuana and other drugs swallowed a quantity of marijuana when he was being taken into custody, said Police Chief Michael Leslie.
A large amount of money was also seized, said Leslie.
Dexter Reynolds, 25, was taken into custody on Mullis Drive, said Leslie, charged with possession of a Schedule IV drug with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, a noise violation and window tint violation.
“An officer patrolling on foot on Mullis Drive Friday evening encountered a vehicle playing music excessively loudly and noticed a window tint violation, which the driver had been warned about earlier,” said Leslie.
As the officer approached, he recognized that the driver had swallowed an unknown quantity of marijuana, said Leslie.
“The driver had suspected marijuana residue around his mouth and officers later discovered more marijuana within the vehicle,” said Leslie. “The driver was also found to have 15 tramadol tablets in his pockets with more than $1,500 cash.”
Reynolds was released from jail after he posted bond, said Leslie.
