ALMA — A Douglas woman was injured Thursday when the truck she was driving skidded off Fourth Street Extension and struck a tree, said the Georgia State Patrol.
Charlene Moore, 48, was taken by Bacon County ambulance to Bacon County Hospital for treatment of injuries she sustained in the 4:35 p.m. accident, said Steve Drury, GSP Brunswick post secretary.
Moore was charged with driving under the influence (DUI), driving with an expired license and failure to maintain a lane, said Drury.
Driving a 1998 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck, Moore was southbound on Fourth Street Extension attempting to round a left hand curve. Drury said the truck skidded off the roadway for 94 feet, onto the west shoulder for another 97 feet when it began to spin. The truck then hit a tree with the right rear panel.
Trooper Justin Jones was in charge of the accident investigation.
