BLACKSHEAR — A Blackshear woman was injured Monday as two vehicles collided at the intersection of U.S. Highway 84 and Trudie Road, said the Georgia State Patrol.
Megan Gayle Neeley, 23, of Blackshear, was taken by Pierce County ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross for treatment of unspecified injuries, said Donna Dismuke, GSP Waycross post secretary.
Driving a 2004 Ford Expedition, Neeley was northbound on Trudie Road, attempting to make a left turn onto U.S. Highway 84, said Dismuke. An unidentified driver motioned to Neeley that it was clear to enter the roadway as other drivers were stopped for school traffic.
Dismuke said Neeley did not see a 2009 Honda Accord driven by Allie Dowling, 17, of Patterson, as it was eastbound on Highway 84.
Neeley’s vehicle struck the passenger side of Dowling’s car, then crossed all lanes of the roadway before coming to a stop in a nearby private drive, said Dismuke. The Dowling car spun clockwise for 135 feet and stopped in the eastbound lanes of Highway 84.
No charges were listed on the accident report.
The second driver, Dowling, was not injured and neither were passengers in the Neeley vehicle, Keaton Neeley, 1, and Kylan Clements, 4, nor a passenger in the Dowling vehicle, Demarcus Green, 18.
Sgt. Lisa Bowen investigated the 7:55 a.m. accident.
