BLACKSHEAR — A three-vehicle accident Tuesday on U.S. Highway 84 claimed the life of a Baxley woman and injured one other person, said Blackshear Police Chief Chris Wright.
Jacqueline Taylor, 31, of a Baxley address, died in the 5:38 p.m. crash that occurred near the Hurst Lane intersection west of here, said Wright.
One occupant in one of the other vehicles was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross with a non-life-threatening injury, Wright said. He did not have the identity of that person.
Wright said the stormy weather in the area could have been a factor in the crash but that he would not make that judgment call until he sees the Georgia State Patrol’s accident report.
Amanda Dixon, GSP Waycross post secretary, said the troopers were on the scene until the wee hours this morning and had not transmitted a report on the accident at 8 a.m. She said she anticipates having the report by late this afternoon.
