Two drivers were injured Friday in a “significant” rear-end collision on Tebeau Street near its intersection with Lister Street, said Waycross Police Capt. Tommy Cox.
Andrew Webb, 34, of Waycross, and Jackie Ward, 84, of Waycross, both complained of injury and both were taken by Ware County Emergency Medical Service ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross for examination and treatment, said Cox.
Driving a 2009 Dodge Avenger, Webb was westbound on Tebeau Street in the inside lane when his vehicle struck the rear of a 2002 Lincoln CS driven by Ward, also westbound on Tebeau Street. Cox said Ward was stopped to turn onto Lister Street when Webb’s vehicle struck the rear of her car. Both vehicles had extensive damage, he said.
Webb was charged with following too closely behind another vehicle, Cox said.
Officer Jake Griffin investigated the 5:58 p.m. accident.
