Two drivers were injured Thursday when one driver disregarded a red traffic light at the intersection of Memorial Drive and Hatcher Point Road, causing a two-vehicle collision, said Waycross Police Capt. Tommy Cox.
Barbara Logan, 65, of Edgefield, S.C., and David Bullard, 29, of Blackshear, were both taken by a Ware County Emergency Medical Service ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross for treatment of minor injuries, said Cox.
Driving a 2013 Nissan Rouge, Logan was southbound on Memorial Drive turning left onto Hatcher Point Road, and ran the red light, said Cox. A 2004 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Bullard was turning right off Hatcher Point Road onto Memorial Drive northbound when the two vehicles collided.
Logan was charged with a red light violation, said Cox. Bullard was charged with driving with suspended license, said Cox.
Officer Glenn Wiederman investigated the 9:44 p.m. accident.
