Two people were injured Thursday when a vehicle ran off the roadway on Slash Pine Road, struck a tree and overturned, said the Georgia State Patrol.
The driver, Kenneth Porter, 48, of Waycross, and his passenger, Renae Braddock, 37, of Waycross, were taken by Ware County Emergency Medical Service ambulance to Mayo Clinic for examination and treatment of unspecified injuries, said Amanda Dixon, GSP Waycross post secretary.
Driving a Suzuki SUV, Porter was westbound on Slash Pine Road when the vehicle began to rotate counterclockwise and spun for 85 feet, said Dixon.
The SUV left the roadway onto the south shoulder, struck a ditch and culvert and began to rotate clockwise for 56 feet. Dixon said the SUV overturned onto the driver’s side and came to rest against a tree.
Trooper Merritt Meeks investigated the 5:37 p.m. accident.
