One person was arrested by Waycross Police officers and two others are being sought after they fled on foot from a stolen vehicle early this morning, said Waycross Police Capt. Benji Hersey.
Christion Sanders, 21, of 629 Walker St., was arrested and charged with obstruction of an officer with more charges pending, said Hersey.
At 2:37 a.m., officers on patrol at South Georgia Parkway and City Boulevard noticed a silver SUV traveling on South Georgia Parkway with no headlights. The SUV turned onto City Boulevard and ran the red light at the Knight Avenue intersection, Hersey said.
They tried to stop the SUV and three occupants jumped out and fled on foot with the vehicle still in gear and moving forward, Hersey said.
Officers apprehended Sanders and discovered the SUV had just been stolen at a business in the 1700 block of South Georgia Parkway, Hersey.
The investigation continues as police seek the other two suspects, Hersey said.
