Three people were injured Tuesday in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Ossie Davis Parkway and Church Street, said Waycross Police Capt. Tommy Cox.
Both drivers, Derek Davis, 31, of Waycross, and Britney Williams, 26, of Waycross, and a passenger in the Williams vehicle, Zhanee Payne, 18, of Waycross, were all taken by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross for treatment of injuries they suffered in the 12:50 p.m. accident, said Cox.
Driving a 2002 Nissan Sentra, Davis was northbound on Ossie Davis Parkway in the inside lane attempting to make a left turn onto Church Street. Cox said Williams, driving a 2006 Hyundai Sonata, was southbound on Ossie Davis Parkway when Davis turned into the path of her car. The William vehicle hit the passenger side of the Davis car in the intersection.
Davis was charged with failure to yield to oncoming traffic, Cox said, while Williams was cited for a seatbelt violation.
Lt. Kyla Lee was in charge of the accident investigation.
