A two-vehicle collision at the intersection of City Boulevard and Central Avenue Thursday sent a Waycross woman to the emergency room for treatment of injuries, said Waycross Police Capt. Benji Hersey.
It was one of two reported collisions with injuries occurring Thursday in Waycross, according to Hersey.
Charlene Gerber, 25, of Waycross, was taken by Ware County Emergency Medical Service ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross for treatment of neck pain following the 11:01 a.m. crash, said Hersey.
Ada Walker, 91, of Waycross, was charged with failure to comply with a traffic control device after she failed to stop at a red traffic light, said Hersey.
Driving a 2003 Hyundai, Gerber was southbound on City Boulevard, traveling with the green light. Hersey said Walker, driving a 2010 Buick, was eastbound on Central Avenue and did not stop at the red light, causing the vehicles to collide in the intersection.
Officer John McLellan was in charge of the investigation.
Meanwhile, two people were injured Thursday when a driver made a left turn off Morningside Drive and turned into the path of an oncoming vehicle, said Hersey.
Shanne Fowler, 21, of Waycross, and a passenger in her vehicle, Victoria Wheeler, 20, also of Waycross, were taken by Ware County Emergency Medical Service ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross for treatment of injuries sustained in the 5:15 p.m. accident, said Hersey.
Driving a 2001 Honda Passport, Fowler was northbound on Morningside Drive, making a left turn onto Jasmine Circle, when she turned into the path of a 2014 Nissan Maxima driven by Dallas Boyett, 24, of Ginger Lane, Waycross. Hersey said Fowler was cited for failure to yield when making a left turn.
Officer John McLellan was in charge of the accident investigation.
