Three people were injured in a single-vehicle accident on Blackwell Street Sunday at 2:59 a.m., said Ware County Sheriff Randy Royal.
Deputy Zabrae Williams reported that the driver of a 1996 Nissan Sentra and two passengers were hurt, Royal said. The injured persons were transported by a personal vehicle to the emergency room for treatment, he said.
The injured included the driver, Kentaviouse Rose, of Cleo Street, Trik Byrd, 18, of Phillips Avenue, and Nadia Presley, 16, of Martin Luther King Drive, Royal said.
Rose told the deputy he was traveling north on Blackwell Street trying to negotiate a curve, Royal said. Rose said he applied the brakes as he entered the curve and lost control of the car, driving into a ditch and striking a tree about 600 feet south of Commons Street.
A witness to the accident, after giving a statement to Williams, drove the victims to the Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross, Royal said.
