Fredia Mae Mason
A memorial service for Fredia Mae Mason will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Perry Brothers Funeral Home, 1100 Ossie Davis Parkway, Waycross.
The cortege will assemble at the family residence, 702 Thomas St., at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 5 until 7 p.m.
Fredia Mae Mason was a native of Savannah who happily resided in Waycross for more than 40 years. She was born Jan. 31, 1947 to the late Lillie Mae Quarterman and Freedman Quarterman.
She dedicated her life to Jehovah and symbolized her dedication by water baptism more than 40 years ago. She loved teaching others about Jehovah. She married the late Eugene Mason Oct. 13, 1973 and born to this union was a son, Jonathan Mason, and one daughter, LaShanda Frazier Pitts.
She worked for the Ware County Board of Education for more than 20 years. She was well known in the community for her delicious homemade cinnamon rolls and was well loved by everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her son, Jonathan Mason, of Waycross; a daughter, LaShanda Pitts, of Macon; two grandchildren, Craig Pitts and My’ara Patmon, of Macon; three sisters, Ruth Quarterman, of Savannah, Linda Quarterman, of Harrisburg, Pa., and Alice Quarterman, of Atlanta; three brothers, Harry Quarterman, of North Carolina, Michael and Jerry Quarterman, both of Savannah; two aunts, Ruby Modest and Dorothy Bates, of Savannah; two uncles, Alfred Frazier, of Conyers, and Willie Lee Whitehead, of Savannah; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

John Wallace, 90, of Waycross, died Wednesday afternoon (Sept. 14, 2016) at Mayo Clinic Health Systems In Waycross.
Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Miles-Odum Funeral Home.
A funeral for Annie Graham Edwards was held Wednesday morning at Kettle Creek Church with the Rev. Danny Callahan and the Rev. Richard Clark officiating.
Burial followed in Zoar Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Stephen Dukes, Joffre Graham, Kyle Graham and Scott Newman.
Music Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Jerry Rudolph Watkins
BLACKSHEAR — The funeral for Jerry Rudolph Watkins, 67, was held Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock at the Pearson-Dial Chapel.
Officiating was the Rev. Franklin Peacock.
Interment was in the Blackshear Cemetery with military honors conducted by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard.
Active pallbearers were Billy Yeomans, Corey Turner, Chuck Parrish, Zack Blackstock, Davis Johnson and Joe Haynes Jr.
Pearson-Dial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Raymond L. Pittman
A funeral for Raymond Lester Pittman was held Wednesday afternoon at Suwannee Chapel Church of God of Prophecy with the Rev. Leonard Pittman officiating.
Burial followed in Suwannee Chapel Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Earl Hall, Cliff Adams, Gerald Pittman, Alan Bennett, Glen Cox and Merrell Beverly.
Miles-Odum Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
