Volunteers, like these folks laboring on the big day last year, will again join the Rebuilding Together Waycross work day effort Saturday to upgrade and make repairs to nine local homes. Rebuilding Together Waycross is a part of the nation’s largest volunteer organization that makes needed repairs to homes of people who are elderly and or disabled and demonstrate financial need. National Rebuilding Day is April 25, meaning the volunteers here will be only a fraction of those doing good deeds for their fellow man from coast to coast and border to border in the U.S. Rebuilding Together Waycross is being enabled this year by a grant from Sears, which is financing the work on two of the nine residences. You can be a volunteer worker, too. Volunteer applications are online at www.yourwarelocal.com … or you can simply show up at 7 a.m. Saturday at Central Baptist Church and register. There will be a kickoff breakfast at the church. The celebration supper at the end of a long work day is scheduled at 6 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church.
