•Aggravated assault: a man was leaving a house on the south side of town Saturday when he was approached by an extended family member and four other people; the four black men and the one black woman jumped on the victim and beat him up, then stabbed him; he was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross for treatment of the “minor” stab wound; Waycross police are investigating.
•Robbery: employees leaving a business in the 900 block of Knight Avenue about 10:35 p.m. Friday were accosted by a black man who forced them back inside the business; the man attempted to get money out of a cash register but was unsuccessful; he then took a purse and several cell phones from the victims; he left out the rear door of the business; Waycross police are investigating.
•Battery, meth possession: Tyrone Bolen, 29, of 1000 Central Ave.; charged with battery family violence and possession of methamphetamine; Waycross police were dispatched to the Central Avenue address about 4 p.m. Sunday in reference to a domestic dispute; Bolen was taken into custody on the battery charged; when he was searched after his arrest, police found a bag of methamphetamine on his person; he was being held in the Ware County jail.
•Recovered property: a silver 2008 Chevrolet Impala LTZ reported stolen Saturday inside the city limits of Waycross was recovered about 1:15 p.m. Sunday stuck in a ditch at the end of an airport runway at the Waycross-Ware County Airport; the Waycross Police Department put out a bulletin about the car, which had chrome rims and tinted windows; the owner of the car told police she was having automotive problems and left the car in front of the old recreation department building on Grove Street; when she returned to get the car the next day, it was gone; after being recovered, the car was turned over to Waycross police for processing; Ware County detectives are investigating.
•Vehicle burglary: after unloading groceries out of a car around 11 p.m. Friday, the owner used a keyfob to lock the doors; the owner then got a call about 4 a.m. that someone was attempting to use her debit card; missing from the vehicle were a wallet, $415 in cash and several debit and credit cards; Waycross police are investigating.
