Law enforcement officials released the following information:
•Drugs, firearm: Arsenio Taylor, 27, of Parkway Drive; charged with possession of cocaine, possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime and operating a vehicle with suspended registration, as well as driving without a license; Waycross police stopped Taylor at 8:30 p.m. on Chism Street after recognizing him and knowing he was not licensed to drive; he admitted to the officer he had a gun and cocaine was also found on him; he was taken to the Ware County jail.
•Firearm possession: Ramond Powell, 67, of 821 Hurley St.; charged with illegal possession of a handgun, possession of a firearm with altered identification; Waycross police went to a house in the 600 block of Pendergast looking for another person when they saw Powell in the yard at 6:15 p.m.; police were given permission to search him and they found a .25-caliber handgun with the serial numbers filed off; he was taken to the Ware County jail.
•Drugs: James Johns, 53, of Waycross; charged with possession of drugs not in their original container and possession of dangerous drugs; Johns was speaking with an officer in the 800 block of Seaman Street about 2 p.m. Thursday when he showed the officer a cigarette pack containing yellow pills identified as neurontin, a controlled substance categorized as a “dangerous drug;” he was taken to the Ware County jail.
•Theft: a green and chrome boys bicycle was reported stolen at a house on Stanton Avenue between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning; Ware County detectives are investigating.
