Florice S. McQuaig
Florice Smith McQuaig, 91, died Friday afternoon (Oct. 2, 2015) at Baptist Village Nursing Home in Waycross after an extended illness.
She was born in Waycross to the late Pierce Pickett Smith and Opal Howell Smith Hill. She was married to the late Thomas Monroe “T.M.” McQuaig and worked at the Waycross City Library and operated the book mobile.
She worked at Vennard College University in Iowa for 10 years. She was a member of Faith Temple Church in Waycross where she was a Sunday School teacher, choir member and was a board member. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and excellent homemaker.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jimmy Head.
She is survived by three children, Norma Bennett (husband, Gordon), of Clinton, Okla., Sharon Head, of St. Marys, Tommie Almanzar (husband, Elutario), of Phoenix, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Jeremy Killam (wife, Sheila), of Liberty Center, Ohio, Felicia Head Kratzer (husband, Mike), of Seattle, Wash.; five great-grandchildren, Ory Killam, Asa Killam, Melanie Walker, Madison Walker and Evan Walker.
A funeral will be held Friday morning at 10:30 at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.

Fosteen Steverson, 77, died Monday night (Oct. 5, 2015) at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House following a short illness.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Ware County and a member of Haywood Baptist Church. She was also formerly employed in the cafeteria at Memorial Drive for the Ware County Board of Education.
She was the daughter of the late James Foster Jordan and Dorothy Tuten Jordan. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Clifford Steverson.
She is survived by her three children, Bonita S. Bond (Randy), of Dixie Union, Marina S. Reynolds (Shannon), of Glennville, and Shad Steverson (Angela), of Dixie Union; eight grandchildren, Randa Bond, Dustin Bond (Lori), Kailey Kicklighter (Justin), Jordan Watson, Dawson Reynolds, Melanie Steverson, Marshall Steverson and Taylor Marquardt; four great-grandchildren, Joey Williams, Hunter Forsyth, Alexis Bond and Ericka Bond; a sister, Virene Boland (Wayne), of Dixie Union; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Haywood Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Hephzibah Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening at Music Funeral Home from 6 until 8 o’clock.
