Ervin Bokor
Ervin Bokor, 75, died Thursday afternoon (Oct. 13, 2016) at Satilla Care in Waycross following an extended illness.
He was born Oct. 28, 1940 in Hungary. He traveled to England and got a job in 1956. In 1959, he moved to New Jersey to live with a cousin where he graduated from high school. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. He was stationed at Fort Dix, N.J., Fort Stewart, Ga. (where he met his wife), Germany, Vietnam, Japan and Korea. After serving for many years, he retired from the U.S. Army in El Paso, Texas as an E-5 Specialist.
He was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Emma Bokor, wife, Iris Faye Courson Bokor, and grandson, Ryan Bokor.
Survivors include three sons, Steve Bokor (Lynn), of Blackshear, David Bokor (Deanna), of Waycross, and Micky Bokor (Suzanne), of Waycross; one daughter, Emma Brown (Dennis), of Panama City, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Steven Bokor, Austin Randall Bokor, Logan Ervin Bokor, Sydney Bokor, Ashlianne Bokor, Victoria Brown and Jennifer Brown; and three great-grandchildren, Mychal Brown, Nylah Brown and Baxley Riggons.
A funeral will be held 4 p.m. today at Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Derwin Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.

Sue P. Wooten
Sue P. Wooten, 88, of Blackshear, died Friday morning (Oct. 14, 2016) at Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross.
She was born in Campbellton, Fla., to the late Robert Powell and Mary Alice Wade Powell. She moved to Waycross in 1952 where she lived until moving to Blackshear in the early 1990’s.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who loved her family and any time she was able to spend with them. She was a faithful Christian whose works of charity were given quietly and with much love. She will forever be remembered as a true southern lady who loved Rock n’ Roll, garage sales, crafts and antiques.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Earl Wooten, and her brothers and sisters, Allie Sidaris, Willie Ruth Riley, Annette Adams, Lyndon Powell and Francis Powell.
She is survived by her children, Lyndon Earl Wooten (wife, Gina), of Waycross, William Michael Wooten (wife, Trish), of St. Simons Island, Joanie Bullock (husband, Travis), of Blackshear; five grandchildren, Derek Wooten (wife, Becca), of Valdosta, Laura Butler (husband, Jason), of Cumming, Josh Hennig, of Brunswick, Jeremy Hennig, of Statesboro, Jessica Smith, of Sevierville, Tenn.; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday in Greenlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Miles-Odum Funeral Home.

Vernon Keith Crawford
Vernon Keith Crawford, 60, died Friday afternoon (Oct. 14, 2016) at Baptist Village Retirement Communities after an extended illness.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Waycross. He was a member of High Bluff Primitive Baptist Church, and attended the M.R. Center for 42 years. Affectionately loved for his hugs, he knew, loved and will be missed by everyone.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Toomer Crawford and Alma Thrift Crawford, one sister, Hazel Marie Crawford Tatum, and one brother, Hilton Crawford.
Survivors include five sisters, Laverne Herrin, of Waycross, Faye Butler, of Waycross, Brenda Henderson (Sam), of Jesup, Betty Carol Jordan (Jim), of Waycross, and Alma Lynne Burns (Bob), of Jesup; two brothers, Boyce Crawford and Benny Crawford (Pansy), both of Waycross; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A graveside service was held 3 p.m. Sunday at Piney Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Elder Daniel Drawdy officiating.

Annie V. Howell
Annie Virginia Howell, 84, passed away Sunday afternoon (Oct. 16, 2016) at Pierce County Nursing Home after an extended illness.

Adam Craig Murphy
Adam Craig Murphy, 49, of Mershon, passed away Saturday (Oct. 15, 2016) at Mayo Health System in Waycross.
Born in Waycross, June 18, 1967, he lived in Pierce County all of his life. He was a 1985 graduate of Pierce County High School. He worked for Bowen Dairy and farmed for a few years before going to work for Pierce Timber then Progress Rail. He was currently employed with T&M Forestry.
He loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed NASCAR and college football. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was a son of the late Edward Daniel Murphy Sr.
Survivors include three daughters, Julie Murphy and Kalie (Devin) Minchew, all of Blackshear, and Abby James Murphy, of Patterson; his mother, Willa Jean Byrd Murphy, of Blackshear; his brother and sister-in-law, Edward D. “Danny” and Sherri Murphy Jr., of Blackshear; a grandson, Brantley Adam “BAM” Minchew; a niece, Sarah Grace Murphy; and several other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
There will be no public memorial service.
Memorialization is by cremation.

Kayden M. Boyd
Master Kayden M. Boyd, 7, of 1918 Elaine Ave., Waycross, passed Wednesday (Oct.12, 2016) at Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross with loved ones at his bedside.
He was the son of Sharnae Beach and Philemon Boyd. The family is receiving friends at the home of his grandparents, Felecia and Rodney Davis, 2509 Winchester Ave., and the home of his great-grandparents, Tony and Joan Ratliff Wilcox, 905 Waller St., Waycross.
Funeral arrangements and a list of survivors will be announced later by Rainge Memorial Funeral Home of Blackshear.

Clovis Elaine Clark
BLACKSHEAR — The funeral for Clovis Elaine Thomas Strickland Clark, 80, was held Saturday afternoon at 3 o’clock in the Pearson-Dial Chapel.
Officiating were the Rev. Mike Stone and the Rev. Scotty Hayes.
Interment was in the Blackshear Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Jason Strickland, Rob Johnson, John Barbee, Mike Lynch, Beau Strickland, Conner Johnson and Trey Howell.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the American Legion Post No. 181 Auxiliary.

Agnes Ruth McClelland
A funeral for Agnes Ruth McClelland was held Saturday afternoon at Mitchell Chapel at Baptist Village with the Rev. Jimmy Howard and the Rev. Kenny Marr officiating.
Burial followed in Oakland Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Richard Marr, Gene Marr, Silas Strickland, Carson Allen, David Connor, and Matthew Strickland.
Honorary pallbearers were the Baptist Village nurses.

Linda Faye Tucker
Linda Faye Metts Tucker, 68, of Jacksonville, Fla., passed away Saturday (Oct. 15, 2016) at North Florida Community Hospice in Jacksonville after an extended illness.
She was a native of Bacon County, daughter of the late Homer Metts and Lessie Boatright Metts and was preceded in death by five brothers, Thomas, Eugene “Snook”, Ronnie, Don and Jerry Metts, and a sister, Thetis Bryson.
She was a member of the Nazarene Church of God of Jacksonville, Fla.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Royce Tucker; two children, Keith Tucker and Wendy Learn; one grandson, Brandon Learn, all of Jacksonville, Fla.; four sisters, Eteen Herndon, of Baxley, Jean Clark, of Bristol, Faye Howell (Tommy), of Blackshear, and twin sister, Sue Smith (John), of Bristol; and a lifetime friend, Jeanne Bennett, of Jacksonville, Fla.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with the Rev. George Malone and the Rev. Calvin Courson officiating.
Interment will follow in Wesley Chapel Church Cemetery on Highway 203. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until funeral time.
Active pallbearers will be Anthony Smith, Tommy Metts, Rick Leonard, Bobby Bryson, Michael Miles, Robbie Williams, Cory Davis, Alan Tucker Jr., Gary Herndon, Timmy Smith, Chad Lee, Derrick Rowland and Bobby Metts.
All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
