Clovis Elaine Clark
Clovis Elaine Thomas Strickland Clark, 80, of Blackshear, passed away Monday (Oct. 10, 2016) at Mayo Health System in Waycross, following a sudden illness.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Pearson-Dial Funeral Home.
Jerry Dalton Murray, 85, of Blackshear, died early Monday morning (Oct. 10, 2016) at Baptist Village Retirement Communities following an extended illness.
Born Feb. 4, 1931 in Pierce County, he was a son of the late Clarence Ferrell and Clara Bell Altman Murray. He lived most of his life in Pierce County, where he was a self-employed entrepreneur. He was also a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Ward Memorial United Methodist Church and will be best remembered for driving his 1975 pink Cadillac Eldorado convertible.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Dotti Boyce and Alcene “Buggs” Reeves.
Survivors include his very special friend, Hazel Lee, of Hoboken; special friends, George and Dale Lloyd, of Blackshear, Paul and Dale Davis, of Waycross, Molly Davis Strickland, of Blackshear, and Sis Young, of Blackshear; his step-children, Wayne Murray (wife, Bonnie), of New Port Richey, Fla., and Deborah Murray Tippins (husband, Bill), of Blackshear; a sister, Claudene Brewster, of Waycross; his nieces and nephews, Larry Brannen, Mike Boyce, Charles Brannen, Bill Brewster, Nancy Deeb and Barbara Arcoraci; and several other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will take place today at 2 p.m. at the Blackshear City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the cemetery.
