Annie Mae Welch Mercer, 95, of Waycross, died Tuesday morning (Nov. 8, 2016) at Baptist Village after an extended illness.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Miles-Odum Funeral Home.
Clarence J. ‘Bo’ Barnett Jr.
Clarence J. “Bo” Barnett Jr., 61, died Monday (Nov. 7, 2016) at his residence following an extended illness.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Waycross and former partner with C.J. Barnett & Sons, Inc. He attended Kettle Creek Church and was a Georgia Master Timber Harvester. He enjoyed riding motorcycles.
He was a son of the late Clarence Jackson Barnett Sr. and Maude Virginia Crews Barnett.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Cindy Henderson Barnett, of Waycross; a daughter, Summer E. Hodges (husband, Shaun), of Savannah; he enjoyed his only granddaughter, Parker Hodges; two sisters, Annett Aldridge, of West Green, and Linda Lovett (husband, Tommy), of Waycross; two brothers, John Harold “Hal” Barnett (wife, Tina), of Waycross, and Jamie Charles Barnett, of New York, N.Y.; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Kettle Creek Church. Burial will follow in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends this evening at Music Funeral Home from 5 until 7 o’clock.

Linda Lou Johnson
A celebration of life for Linda Lou Johnson, 68, will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Our Beloved Church, 105 E. Washington Ave., with the church pastor, the Rev. Cathy Sweat, offering words of comfort.
She was born Oct. 23, 1948 in Waycross to the late Nathaniel Johnson and Bernice Milton Johnson. She received her formal education from the Waycross Public School System.
She was a founding member of Our Beloved Church, also known as Bethesda Fellowship. She was a volunteer with Bethesda Recovery and was known for encouraging and caring for the women in the residence. Her congenial character won a place in the hearts of those privileged to have known her.
She loved her family and friends. She stayed active in the lives of her family by helping raise many of her nieces and nephews.
On Thursday (Oct. 27, 2016) in Jacksonville, Fla., God called her home to rest from her labor.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Verdell Milton, and a brother, Gerald Milton.
Those left to cherish her memory include a special friend, Ralph Johnson, of Waycross; a brother, Willie James Milton, of Folkston; two sisters, Loraine Paige Wimberley, of Douglas, and Mary Lee Johnson, of Waycross; a special niece, Necola King, of Waycross; and other nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Friends are being received at the Johnson residence, 803 Jones St.
Visitation will be held this evening from 5 to 7 at Fluker Funeral Home, 985 Ossie Davis Parkway.
The body will lie in repose at the church Thursday from 1 p.m. until the hour of service.
