A man who entered a house on Owens Street Saturday morning and shot and killed a pregnant woman and her unborn fetus and shot and wounded two young boys was taken before Ware County Magistrate Charlie Brown Monday for a first appearance hearing.
Clinton Lee Davis, 30, was denied bond and was bound over for presentment to the Ware County Grand Jury, said Ware County Sheriff Randy Royal.
Waycross police said he is charged with murder, feticide and aggravated assault.
Police said he intruded into the home of Shanique Shanice Bellamy, 24, in the 600 block of Owens Street just before 2 a.m. and fatally shot her. Her unborn child (she was six months pregnant) also died.
Police said he also fired shots at two children sharing her the bed, a 1-year-old and a 2-year-old, both boys, shooting one of them multiple times. The children were taken to out-of-town hospitals and were at the time considered in critical condition.
No local law enforcement officials contacted today knew their current condition.
Investigators say Davis is Bellamy’s ex-boyfriend.
Davis was arrested in St. Marys by Camden County lawmen about 8 a.m. Saturday and was returned to Ware County where he remains in the Ware County jail.
Waycross Police Capt. Danny Hampton said Davis is the father of one of the boys that were shot, but chose not to say which one. Hampton said police are not releasing any information about a motive nor any further details.
