Nine people were arrested Friday on multiple drug and related charges after Ware County lawmen and Brantley County Investigator John Simpson went to a Creswell Street home and found numerous drugs there, said Ware County Sheriff Randy Royal.
Arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and drug related objects were Raymond Keith Newman, 21, of Gilmore Avenue, Patricia Lynn Newman, 25, of Gilmore Avenue, Donna Sherman McCallister, 29, of Repard Henderson Road, Nicholas Austin McCallister, 22, of Dean Still Road, John Wesley McDaniel, 35, of Waycross, Nethi Alexander Clark, 30, of Post Road, Waynesville, Wesley Lee Tatum, 29, of Brunel Street, Tabitha Larae Still, 20, of Minnesota Avenue, and James Anthony Wise, 45, of Osceola Avenue, said Royal.
About 11:59 a.m. Friday, the Ware County Drug Unit was conducting surveillance in the 2200 block of Creswell Street in reference to information on drug activity when they were contacted by Simpson who was searching for property stolen in a Brantley County burglary.
Along with State Probation Officer Chris Gonzales, the lawmen entered an outside building where one person was known to be. Royal said lawmen found methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and packaging materials in the shed.
After entering the house, officers found drugs and paraphernalia in every room of the house, Royal said, including methamphetamine, packaging materials, four sets of scales, a glass pipe used to ingest meth and several bags containing crystal meth, rolling paper and stolen jewelry items.
All of the suspects were taken to the Ware County jail where they were booked on the charges.
Royal said Detective James Cox, Sgt. Robert Weiss, State Probation Officer, Chris Gonzales, Detective Tron Lewis, Deputy Brian Newman, Deputy Ethan Murray and Deputy Zabrae Williams are continuing the investigate.
