The arrest of a woman Thursday in the parking lot of a Waycross motel led to the arrest of two people in a motel room, all on drug charges, said Waycross Police Lt. Scott Rowell.
Police officers questioned Kristin Meeks, 23, of Prescott Street, as a potential witness in a stolen car case in the parking lot of Motel 6 on Memorial Drive at 12:14 p.m. Thursday, Rowell said. She was acting nervous, so the officer asked for and got consent to search her, finding her in possession of methamphetamine.
She was exonerated from having any knowledge of the theft of the vehicle, he said.
Meeks was arrested on a possession of meth charge, Rowell said. Information was later obtained that informed the police that she got the meth from someone in a Motel 6 room, Rowell said. Waycross Police detectives went to the room and found two people there.
Shawn Allen Todd, 36, of Musket Trail, was arrested on a misdemeanor probation warrant after detectives spoke with him, Rowell said. Charges of possession of meth, possession of a Schedule II drug possession of a Schedule IV drug and possession of drug related objects were added later.
Detectives also questioned Cassandra Vick, 33, of Dave Bennett Road, and arrested and charged her with all the same charges plus possession of meth with the intent to distribute, Rowell said.
A probationary search of Vick and the room was conducted and detectives found several digital scales, several meth pipes, valium and roxycotin, Rowell said.
During a more thorough search of Vick at the Ware County jail, a large quantity of meth was found, Rowell said.
