Ora Elvera Thornton
Ora Elvera Thomas Thornton, 87, died Thursday morning (May 7, 2015) at Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross following a short illness.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Hoboken and a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church. She was also a homemaker and later in life was employed in the cafeteria of Hoboken Elementary School.
She was a daughter of the late Homer Thomas and Frances Griffin Thomas. She was married to the late Brookie “I.B.” Thornton and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn Louise Hale, and three grandchildren, Lamar Thornton, Jason Thornton and Grayson Goldberg.
She is survived by five children, Carl Thornton (wife, Darlene), of Waycross, Russell Thornton (wife, Charlotte), of Blackshear, Carolyn Hale (husband, Donald), of Waycross, Susan McGill (husband, Mike), of Hoboken, and Connie Stevens (husband, Buddy), of Hortense; 18 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Hoboken City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening at the funeral home from 6 until 8 o’clock.

Diane Reese Perry
BRISTOL — The funeral for Diane Adle Reese Perry, 74, was held Thursday afternoon at 4 o’clock at Bristol Baptist Church.
Officiating was the Rev. R.C. James.
Interment was in the Bristol Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Michael Bagley, Mitchell Bagley, Josh Taylor, Christian Perry, Jesse Perry, Duane Reese and David Reese.
Honorary pallbearers were all lunchroom employees with the Pierce County Board of Education.
Pearson-Dial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

A funeral for Robert Fulton Morgan was held Thursday at noon at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Franklin Peacock and the Rev. Lamar Music officiating.
Burial followed in Waresboro Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Walter Morgan, Lamar Welch, David Carroll, Donnie Lankford, Alvin Fuller Jr. and Wendell Morgan.
Miles-Odum Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
