Quinton J. Penix
Quinton Jerome Penix, 52, of Atlanta, died Monday (May 16, 2016) at his residence after an extended illness.
He was born Aug.16, 1962 in Lake City, Fla., the son of the late Alton Perry and Barbara J. Bryant.
He was educated in the public school system of Lake City and after graduation from high school he moved to Atlanta. He furthered his education earning a bachelors degree in sales and marketing and computer technology.
He utilized his education in many facets working with Phoenix Systems Integration, Pitney-Bowes Corporation, Ranger America, ADT Security Systems, Centex Home Security Systems and Fleetcorp Technologies.
He received numerous awards for being a leader in his many fields of expertise.
He had a passion for the outdoors, especially golfing with his friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents and one sister, Annette Campbell.
Those left to cherish the legacy of life are his children, Sherrase Rene Penix, Quinton J. Penix Jr., Thomas Dijon Penix and Gabrielle Sinclair Penix; two grandchildren, Makayla and Alexis Richardson; three brothers, John Perry, Tyrone Perry and Calvin Perry; two sisters, Inell (Ervin) Bighams and Alnora Taylor; nieces, Eiysa Hamilton, Whitney Perry, Patrisha Perry and Victoria Forth; nephews, Anderson Perry, Alex Shaw, John Perry, Rashay Carter, Jonathon Shaw, Contrel Carter and Michael Perry; a host of cousins and friends.
The funeral will be Saturday at the chapel of Jacobs Funeral Home, 2640 Highway 84 West in Blackshear with the Rev. Jimmy Bryant officiating and delivering words of comfort.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service beginning at 2: p.m.
Interment will follow at the Masonic Cemetery in Waynesville.

Mr. Shirley D. Kimbrell
Mr. Shirley D. Kimbrell, 87, died Monday morning (May 23, 2016) at St. Vincent’s Medical Center Riverside in Jacksonville, Fla., after a short illness.
He was a native of Pierce County, but he lived most of his life in Waycross. A U.S. Navy World War II veteran, he retired from Georgia Natural Gas as a supervisor after 28 years. He was a member of Second Baptist Church and the Ware County Exchange Club.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jim Kimbrell, step-mother, Wilma Kimbrell, one sister, Katherine Middleton, and three brothers, Theron, Don and Thomas Kimbrell.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Steedley Kimbrell, of Waycross; step-daughter, Debbie Hanchey (Jerome), of Hoboken; step-son, Tim Steedley, of Waycross; six step-grandchildren, Whitney Steedley, Andrew Steedley, Emily Steedley, Brad Fulford (Nicole), Brian Fulford (Keri) and Daniel Steedley; six step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-granddaughter.
A funeral will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Second Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church.

A funeral for Daniel H. “Danny” Crawford was held Tuesday morning at Music Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Altman officiating.
Burial followed in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bill Bennett, Randy Crawford, Spence Crawford, Ricky Crews, Larry Griffin, Brent Justice and Pete Spradley.
Honorary pallbearers were members of “F.O.T.O.” or Friends of Twin Oaks.

A funeral for Joseph Donald Sapp was held Tuesday afternoon at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Clarke Lee and the Rev. Clayton Davis officiating.
Burial followed in Kettle Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Michael Thomas, Justin Thrift, Timmy Cox, J.W. Conley, Joseph James and James Murray.
Military honors were provided by the U.S. Navy Funeral Honor Details of Jacksonville, Fla.

A funeral for Donald Arthur Monk was held Tuesday afternoon at Music Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Timothy D. Maynard and the Rev. Randy Monk officiating.
Burial followed in Kettle Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Cole Herrin, Kelly Hood, Kerry Hood, Kody Hood, Kory Hood, Matt Miller, Michael Miller, Dustin Monk, Chad Newman and John Newman.
