Harmon E. Overby Sr.
Harmon Edward Overby Sr., 61, of Waycross, died Tuesday evening (May 19, 2015) at Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross after a short illness.
He was born in Homerville to the late Benjamin M. Overby and Doris Virginia Lightsey McKinnon. He lived in Waycross most of his life and currently worked for Pat Salmon Mail Carriers.
He was a member of Wahoma Church of God of Prophecy and was a multi-talented musician who could play almost any instrument. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and had a passion for Diet Cokes.
He served his country in the Georgia National Guard for eight years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Bennie Overby, and one daughter-in-law, Jewelabee Overby.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 39 years, Christine Sellers Overby, of Waycross; three children, Harmon Edward Overby Jr., of Waycross, Christy Marie Overby, of Valdosta, Stephen Carl Overby (wife, Carmen Maria), of Waycross; three grandchildren, Sydney Christine Overby, Taylor Alysse Overby and Seth Esteban Overby; one sister, Sherry Floyd (husband, Elvin), of Homerville; one uncle, Doyle Lightsey, of Valdosta; one nephew, Ethan Carter; numerous other nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 at Wahoma Church of God of Prophecy. Burial will follow in Kettle Creek Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.

Jessie Mae Henderson Pittman, 97, died Wednesday night (May 20, 2015) at her residence after an extended illness.

Nora Lavon Strickland York, 73, of Waycross, died Wednesday morning (May 20, 2015) at Hospice Satilla Hospice House.

Frances D. Lee
Frances Dickerson Lee, 96, died Monday evening (May 18, 2015) at Hospice House Satilla following an extended illness.
She was a native of Alma, but resided in Ware County for several years. She was the wife of the late Barney Lee. She was the last surviving child of Robert Conner Dickerson and Ellen Ginn Dickerson as she was preceded in death by siblings Dallas Herrin, Mayo Gill, Luther Dickerson, Coyle Dickerson, Mildred Jones, Thomas Dickerson, and Conner Dickerson, and a son-in-law, Larry Shepard.
She was a member of Hebardville Baptist Church and was a former Kitchen Aid with Baptist Village.
Survivors include a daughter, Florrie Shepard, of Waycross; a son, Darrel Lee (wife, Dot), of Savannah; five grandchildren, Kenny Shepard (wife, Beth), of Albany, Lynn Highsmith (husband, Wayne), of White Oak, David Shepard, of Albany, Amy Taylor (husband, Zack), of St. Simons Island, and Brent Lee (wife, Julie), of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; 12 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Mary Wainwright, of Winokur, Hazel Justice (husband, Walter), of Waycross, and Susie Sims (husband, Wiley), of Marietta; one brother-in-law, Jerome Lee (wife, Margaret), of Blackshear; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Satilla, 808 Beacon St., Waycross, Ga. 31501.
A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. today at Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in High Bluff Cemetery near Hoboken.

Annie Mae Brauda
Annie Mae Morgan Brauda, 74, of Hortense, passed away Wednesday (May 20, 2015) at her residence following an extended illness.
Born in Screven, she was the daughter of Allen Morgan and Ethel Moody Morgan. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Ronald “Ronnie” Smith Jr., and two sons, Ronald Smith III and Scott Brauda.
She was a homemaker and a member of Satilla Missionary Baptist Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed planting flowers and taking care of her pets.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Emery Brauda, of Hortense; three daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda Smith Lee (Wade), Teresa Lynn Boatwright (Tony) and Julie Ann Moon (Ben), all of Hortense; nine grandchildren, Fairiby Carter Hanchey, Christian Rushing, Whitney Smith, Daniel Smith, Stephanie Smith, Rachel Lee Roberson, Emily Lee Crews, Jessica Cochran and Colby Brauda; seven great-grandchildren, Cora Crews, Cain Roberson, Ellie Crews, Carter Hanchey, Madison Hanchey, Sophia Smith, and Paxton Cochran; two sisters, Betty M. Anderson and Frances Sloan, both of Hortense; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be held today starting at 6 p.m. at the residence of Wade and Rhonda Lee, 8090 Hortense Road, Hortense.
The funeral will be held Friday morning at 11 o’clock at Satilla Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Loren Bryant and the Rev. R.C. Mathis officiating.
Burial will follow in the Satilla Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Wade Lee, Ben Moon, Tony Boatwright, Roger Sloan, Daniel Smith, Justin Roberson and Stephen Crews.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Satilla Missionary Baptist Church family.

Burial followed in Hargraves Cemetery.
