Herbert Clyde Hendrix
NEW BERN, N.C. — Herbert Clyde Hendrix, 66, of New Bern, N.C., died Thursday, (May 14, 2015) at Vidant Medical Center.
He was a 20-year U.S. Marine Corps veteran and served in Vietnam. He continued to serve his country for more than 20 years in the private sector and as a federal employee in support of the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Sara Hiebert Hendrix; his mother, Virginia Purvis Hendrix, of Douglas; a son, Robert Paul Hendrix, of New Bern; a daughter, Jennifer Cisneros (husband, Richard), of Houston, Texas; sister, Glenda McDonald, of Ocala, Fla.; grandchildren, Ashley, Savannah, Avery, Katerina and Dylan.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Hendrix.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cotten Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.

Robert Kevin Crews
Robert Kevin Crews, 52, of Folkston, passed away Wednesday (May 13, 2015) from injuries sustained in a car accident.
He was born in Charlton County Dec. 19, 1962 to Owen and Joyce Johnson Crews. He was a lifelong resident of Charlton County and a member of Sand Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include three children, two daughters, Samantha Higginbotham (Kyle), of Hilliard, Anita Crews, of Athens, and a son, Wyatt Crews, of Waycross; three grandchildren, Riley, Breylee and Kinlynn; three sisters, Effie Walker; Lori Nettles and Judy Crews (Terry), all of Folkston; three brothers, Ronnie Crews (Robin), Mike Crews (Dena), of Folkston, Frank Crews, of Bryceville, Fla.; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Joyce Crews, a brother, Richard Crews, and one sister, Marie Johnson.
The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Sand Hill Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Ruthy Lee Gardner, 59, died Sunday afternoon (May 17, 2015) at Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross after an extended illness.

Annie Mae Wainright
HICKOX — Annie Mae DePratter Wainright, 82, of Hickox, died Friday evening (May 15, 2015) at her residence after an extended illness.
Born in Lulaton, she was the daughter of Albert and Nancy Harris DePratter. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Banner Jesse Wainright, a granddaughter, Wendy Wainright, and several brothers and sisters.
She was a homemaker and a member of Hickox Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her grandkids, cooking, baking and embroidering.
Survivors include her three sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Susan Wainright, of Hickox, Terry and Paula Wainright, of Hickox, and Paul Wainright (Paul Vincennie), of Orlando, Fla.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pattie Wainright-Hosti (Wayne), of Savannah, and Joy and Doug Rudd, of Springlake, N.C.; nine grandchildren, Jason Wainright (Kerry), Jeffery Wainright, Haili Wainright, Heather Grace (Dusty), Sarah Wainright, Jordan Wainright, Jesse Wainright (Roxanne), Jonathan Rudd and Ashlyn Hosti; eight great-grandchildren, Austin Wainright, Gavin Wainright, Reagan DePratter, Jaylon Raulerson, Anna Raulerson, Alley Grace, Kelsie Bishop and Banner Wainright; a sister, Marilee Meeks, of Waycross; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral was to be held this morning at 11 o’clock at Riverside Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Wainright officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Randy Johns, Keith Martino, Jimmy Arrington, Timmy Davis, Scott Studstill and Shawn Sweat.

Corrine Morgan, 73, died Saturday (May 16, 2015) at Satilla Care Center after an extended illness.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Ware County. She was formerly employed by Rosedale Florist.
She was the daughter of the late Thomas Eugene Calhoun and Eurice Smith Calhoun. She was preceded in death by her husband, Talmadge David Morgan, and one son, Phillip David Morgan.
Survivors include two daughters, Tammy Russell (David) and Sheila Oliver (fiancé, Johnny Trull), both of Brantley County; seven grandchildren, Joseph Johns (Amy), Christopher Johns (Angella), Zachary Hayden (Sara), Casey Oliver, Eric Oliver (Tiffany), Amber Scott (Jason) and Phillip David Morgan Jr. (Alicia); seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Fonelle Bledsoe, of Vienna; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Hargraves Cemetery in Millwood.
The family will receive friends 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

John F. McDermott
John Francis McDermott, 72, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Wednesday (May 13, 2015).
He was preceded in death by his darling wife of more than 49 years, Odessa McDermott, his parents, Paul Henry and Helen CeCelia McDermott, siblings, Paul Henry McDermott Jr., Patricia Ann Gavlik, Margaret Kathleen Lamperski and Michael Aloysius McDermott.
He is survived by his son, John James McDermott (wife, Cecilia), of Waycross; daughters, Celia Helen Clark (husband, David), and Odessa Lee Angilella, of Dayton, Ohio; seven grandchildren, April (Micheal), David III (Ashley), Anthony Michael (Samantha), Anthony Robert (Shayna), Vanessa (Amber), Emily and Michael; six great-grandchildren, Hope, Khloe, Ethan, Logan, Payton and Anthony Michael Jr.; six siblings, Eileen “Le-Le” (Tom) Feerst, Daniel Leo (Kathryn) McDermott, Mary Theresa Deak, Robert Joseph (Carol) McDermott, James Edward Jude (Natalie) McDermott, Helen CeCelia Taylor and Kevin Colin McDermott.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio.
Prayer service will be at 9:30 a.m. at the Funeral Home, followed by Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace, Prairies Chapel, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, where he was a faithful parishioner.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, 1625 Calvary Drive, Dayton, Ohio.

A funeral for Benny Lavell McBee Sr. took place Saturday morning in the Music Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Hinnon Smith officiating.
Burial was in Kettle Creek Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Jay McBee, Russell McBee, Bobby Thompson, Gary Thompson, Wayne Wiggins and Tayler McBee.
