Nathan L. Watson
A celebration of life service for Nathan L. Watson, 58, of Homerville, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Greater Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 201 Reddish St., Homerville, with the church pastor, the Rev. Randall McCrae, offering words of comfort.
Interment will be in Holes Chapel Cemetery,Homerville.
The body will lie in repose Saturday at the church from noon to the hour of service.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fluker Funeral Home, 15 Robinson St., Homerville.
He was born April 4, 1957 in Homerville where he received his formal education from the public school system. He was a former employee of Brockway Inc. and Air Growers Tree Planting Co., both of Homerville.
He departed this life Friday (May 8, 2015) at Langdale Hospice House in Valdosta after an illness.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Jackson Watson, his mother, Barbara Jean Watson, a brother, Albert L. Blount Jr., and his grandparents, Edward and Ola Watson.
Those left to cherish his memory include six children, Antwan Watson, of Homerville, Kyna Andrews, of Los Angles, Calif., Devani Mayes (Justin), of Ft. Drum, N.Y., Morgan Taylor, Bradley Murphy and Anesia Jackson, all of Homerville; a step-daughter, Danielle Jackson, of Cincinnati, Ohio; a special nephew that he raised, Cedric Marshall Jr., of Homerville; 13 grandchildren; a brother, Jeffery Blount (Lois), of Homerville; an uncle, Donald Watson (Lois), of Homerville; an aunt, Almarie Green (Freddie), of Albany; three special friends, Norman Burns, Warren Johnson Jr. and Emmanuel Williams, all of Homerville; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fluker Funeral Home of Homerville.
Benny L. McBee Sr.
Benny Lavell McBee Sr., 73, died Tuesday morning (May 12, 2015) at Hospice Satilla Hospice House Satilla an extended illness.
He was a native of Pierce County, but lived most of his life in Waycross. He was a self-employed contractor who served in the United States Navy.
He was the son of the late Benny Washington McBee and Mary Alice Knight McBee.
Survivors include three children, Benny Lavell McBee Jr., of Vavista, Calif., Christina Lynn Castillo, of Yucaipa, Calif., and Christopher Wade McBee, of Waycross; five grandchildren; one brother, Johnny McBee, of Waycross; two sisters, Audrey Burgeson and Janice Crews; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Kettle Creek Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Music Funeral Home.
